Madeleine Dale

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate

Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council License #91957

Supervised by Kelley Phillips, MS, LPC-S, RYT

I offer an inclusive and affirming space for all genders, sexualities, and racial ethnicities. I have extensive training in LGBTQIA+ affirming counseling. Though i am not a member of this community, I have a passion for work within this population as an ally and advocate.

I believe that every client is the expert on their own life, and should thus be treated with respect and as an equal partner in the therapeutic relationship. I strive to maintain a fully non-judgmental and empathetic approach. I believe every client has all the tools they need to overcome their challenges. As a therapist, it’s my greatest honor to walk alongside you as we learn and grow together.

Clinical Approach

I practice with a consistent use of empathy and warmth. You deserve a space that is solely focused on you.

Free of judgement, 100% of the time.

I strive for my therapy sessions to feel relaxed and comfortable, while also fostering a space of trust for your emotions to feel welcomed and valued. I employ therapeutic techniques from many different modalities, with the primary theories being Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Person-Centered Therapy.

A Quick Trip to 2005

My story as a therapist actually begins in the early aughts. When I was in second grade, I learned what a therapist was. I was so taken with this idea that I immediately set up shop in my bedroom, printed actual business cards with the help of my father, and proceeded to pass these around to my classmates.

I actually got clients, too. Granted, I hadn’t yet learned the concept of a dual-relationship, or HIPAA requirements, so this wasn’t my most ethical venture. But that year, I solidified something important:

My sole purpose on this Earth is to help people. To witness people’s souls, their hearts, their dreams, and their sorrows.

What was clear to me as a child couldn’t be any truer to me now. This is my lifelong passion, and my greatest honor.

P.S. I still have some of the original business cards in my office. Ask to see them sometime.

Modalities used in session

Every client is unique in their needs and the therapeutic approach that works best for them. As eclectic therapists, we pull from several different modalities for talk therapy, feel free to read about them below!

Upon meeting with you, we can tailor the approach that best fits your needs during our sessions.

  • Originally created by Carl Rogers, PCT posits that you (the client) are the expert on your own life. Therapists using this modality are merely a compassionate guide alongside you, free of judgment.

  • A more proactive approach, SFBT aims to work with the client to identify the problem at hand and techniques to work through it. While '“brief” is in the name, it can be as long or short as client needs.

  • Sort of like the movie “Inside Out”, IFS claims that we all have different parts that have evolved to protect us, and engage with each other and the world around us on a daily basis. Identifying and unburdening is the name of the game!

  • Much like it sounds, this therapy modality combines a basis of understanding of queer history and intersectionality to serve the LGBTQIA+ community with empathy and compassion.

  • Feminist theory can be employed by people of all genders. It focuses on the challenges people face due to societal, cultural, and political factors, such as bias, discrimination, oppression, and stereotyping. Empowerment and education are key.

 Personal FAQs

  • Good question! I received my Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the CACREP-accredited counseling program at Southern Methodist University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) in Texas.

  • Only including this because I get frequently asked by my clients (is that a good or a bad sign?) I am a Taurus, though have virtually 0 knowledge in Zodiac signs. Working on that.

  • Anything that your grandmother enjoys as a hobby, you can assume that I do, as well. I spend my weekends bird-watching, gardening, baking/cooking, feeling warm sunshine on my face, playing with my cats, sending birthday cards to my friends, etc. I also spend a lot of time on TikTok, maybe that applies to your grandmother too?
